Insurance
Many patients ask Dr. Markarian and his staff whether their insurance will cover their procedure. There are a variety of factors that affect whether a procedure will be approved and covered by insurance. It largely depends on your insurance provider’s policy and whether your procedure is deemed medically necessary.
As a general rule, if a procedure or treatment is purely cosmetic, it will be classed as an elective procedure and therefore, will not be covered by insurance.
If you’ve talked to Dr. Markarian or his team about your procedure and are working with your insurance provider, be prepared for some waiting time. A decision on whether or not your claim is approved can take around 3 to 6 weeks. The office will call you once they hear back from your insurance company.
We typically work with these insurance providers:
- Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
- Aetna
- CIGNA
- Blue Cross
- UnitedHealthcare
- Mass General Brigham Health Plan
If you have any questions about processing your surgery through insurance or the status of your claim. Please call the office and follow line two.
