Asymmetric Breast Correction

Breast asymmetry has caused women to feel uncomfortable, embarrassed and self-conscious about their bodies. Minor breast asymmetry affects most women and does not require correction. For major asymmetry, Dr. Markarian offers a variety of surgical solutions.

Breast Augmentation

A Breast augmentation surgery is performed to increase the size and refine the shape of breasts using implants. Many patients who have received a breast augmentation have reported the psychological benefits. This is just one of the reasons why breast augmentations have become one of the most requested cosmetic surgeries.

A young woman in her 20s is shown 6 weeks after a breast augmentation with 275cc smooth round moderate plus silicone implants.  A 1 inch incision was made under the breast and the implants were placed under the muscle with a dual plane technique.

Breast Implant Removal

Some women may wish to have their breast implants removed, or removed and replaced. They increase or decrease their implant size, or have their implants removed due to health concerns. Dr. Markarian performs breast implant removal, or remove and replace, surgery for patients.

A woman in her 30s underwent prior breast augmentation and now requested larger breasts and improvement in asymmetry. A dual plane breast augmentation was performed with silicone implants placed underneath the muscle. This resulted in fuller breasts and improvement in her asymmetry. A minimal incision technique was utilized with a small incision camouflaged along the lower border of the areola. No additional incisions were made.

Breast Lift

Breasts can sag for a variety of reasons, such as: weight loss, breastfeeding and volume loss over time. A breast lift, or breast augmentation with lift, increases the overall size and shape of the breasts in addition to enhancing their firmness and contour.

A young woman in her 20s is shown 7 months after a breast lift with 225cc silicone implants.

Breast Reduction

The best candidates for breast reduction surgery are women who have discomfort, irritation or a lack of self-confidence due to the size of their breasts. A breast reduction is a surgical procedure to reduce the size and refine the shape of overly large breasts.

A woman in her late 50s is shown 8 months following a Breast Reduction. A scar minimizing technique is utilized to not only offer an improved breast appearance but more importantly to provide a dramatic resolution of chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain associated with overly large breasts.

Capsular Contracture Treatment

Capsular Contracture occurs as a hard capsule forms around a breast implant. This can cause physical pain and discomfort, and may also cause breasts to look misshapen and asymmetric. Dr. Markarian can advise on treatment options and perform implant removal, or remove and replace, surgery for patients.

Patient in her early 40s 6 weeks after a revision breast augmentation for capsular contracture. 240cc high profile implants were removed, significant capsular excision and modification was performed, and the old implants were exchanged for moderate profile silicone implants – 575cc on the right, and 600cc on the left.
